My students have started their own blog this semester and as their professor I wanted to guide them through this process of becoming bloggers. The more I am exploring this realm, the more I have been reminded of how distinct blogging is from academic writing. I’m writing this post to support my students, as well as other educators venturing into blogging. The fact is, making a blog is simple but, in the era of knowledge abundance, enticing people to read your posts is not so easy. Our mobile era places each of us in an endless stream of digital resources. We make choices, often very quickly, about what to read and what to disregard. A study by Buffer found that 55% of people read online articles for 15 seconds before moving on. Getting ready for Spring 2018 Greetings, everybody , and I hope you are having a wonderful winter break! I'm in the process of updating the Introduction to Psychology course to be ready for the Spring 2018 semester. This time around, my goal is to make them available  one week early  for anyone who wants to get a head start. Get to Know your Professor

Dr.Priscilla Rose Selvaraj Pris Selvaraj is an assistant professor in the department of Psychology and Counseling at the Hardin-Simmons University. She joined HSU during the 2016-17 academic year after spending a year as a faculty member at the Trinity Evangelical Divinity School, in the Trinity International University at Illinois. Pris obtained PhD in Counselor Education and Supervision from Ohio University, Athens, Ohio. She holds double master’s degree in Psychology and Business Administration from India. She is national certified counselor (NCC) and Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Ohio. She has served in the Counseling center at Trinity International University, University Medical Associates in Ohio University, and in Recovery Council at Waverly Ohio. In India, she worked in the Institute of Mental Health (Govt. Psychiatric Hospital) as a clinical psychology intern.
